Sexcastle by Kyle Starks
Without a doubt, the funniest graphic novel I've ever read. It's a parody of eighties action films, with all of your favorite making guest appearances (under different names of course). Read for the hardcore nostalgia and hilarious one-liners.

Ink Blood Sister Scribe by Emma Torzs
It's about the power and magic of books, so I'm surprised I struggled so much to get through it. For some reason, I tired of the premise around halfway through. It's a New York Times bestseller though. Maybe I'm wrong.

How to Make a Horror Movie and Survive by Craig DiLouie. Just read Suffer the Children instead. Grade: C
They Lurk by Ron Malfi. A novella collection. Loved the first story, but the others dragged it down. Grade: C
Poor Things by Alasdair Gray. I bet the movie is better. Grade: D
Anya's Ghost by Vera Brosgol. Great young adult graphic novel about who you are, and who you want to be. Grade: B
Red X by David Demchuk. A bit overhyped. Grade: C
Shark Heart by Emily Habeck. Probably my second favorite of the month. Somehow this bizarro novel hit the mainstream. Grade: B
The Visitors by Clifford D Simak. Not amongst my favorites from him, but a great premise. Grade: C
Extinction by Douglas Preston. Reminded me a bit of Blake Crouch's Wayward Pines. Grade: C
These Things Linger by Dan Franklin. Flashes of brilliance, but overall, not as good as his debut, The Eater of Gods. Grade: B
Sleep Alone by JAW McCarthy. Stoker-nominated in a competitive novella category. Despite being a band-on-the-road story, I wasn't into it. Grade: D
Best of Godzilla: Volume 1 by Various (graphic novel antho). Probably the best Godzilla graphic novel I've read. There is a vol 2 coming also. Grade: B
Night Film by Marisha Pessl. A fourth-wall breaking book. A bit tedious to read though. Detail bogs the narrative. Grade: C
The Dark Side of Nowhere by Neil Shusterman. Not quite as brilliant as Unwind, but this is another good body horror/sf story from Neil. Grade: B
